PARTNER ABUSE
INTERVENTION & PREVENTION
The Archway’s Partner Abuse Intervention & Prevention (PAIP) Program is Tarrant County’s only state-accredited Batterers’ Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP), working with both court-mandated and volunteer clients. With more than 30 years of innovative experience, we offer evidence-based, trauma-informed groups for men, women, the LGBTQ+ community, and Spanish speakers.
Our program helps people take accountability, challenge harmful behaviors, and build safer relationships.

Most agencies refer to offender programming as “BIPP,” (Batterers Intervention and Prevention Program). While battering is a painful aspect of intimate partner violence (IPV), it does not reflect the full range of tactics that abusers use to control their victims. We changed our title to include “partner abuse” to better represent the many forms IPV comes in, such as verbal, financial, sexual, spiritual, etc.
Supporting survivors is essential and will always remain the cornerstone of our work, but ending domestic violence means going further. Real change requires addressing the source: those who cause harm. At The Archway, we believe everyone has the capacity to change, and we’re here to guide that process with accountability, compassion, and proven tools.
In 2021, PAIP partnered with Dr. Deborah Levesque, creator of the University of Rhode Island Change Assessment – Domestic Violence – Revised (URICA-DV-R), to analyze data from PAIP clients who attended groups between 2017–2020. Findings showed that more than 62 percent of PAIP clients progressed toward change to end their abusive behavior.
Per our accreditation, we work with both sexes and all sexual orientations.
