Leadership
Kathryn has served as President and CEO of The Archway (formerly SafeHaven of Tarrant County) since 2015, guiding the agency through remarkable growth and transformation. During her tenure, The Archway has doubled its budget, expanded life-saving services for survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV), and built stronger partnerships with the criminal justice system to hold offenders accountable.
A passionate innovator, Kathryn is leading the creation of the Texas Assessment of Dominant Aggressor (TX-ADA), a first-of-its-kind tool designed to help law enforcement identify the primary aggressor in IPV cases. She also launched The Archway’s Office of Research and Innovation, positioning the agency as a national leader in evidence-based practices for prevention and intervention.
Her career has spanned both local and global work—directing homeless and domestic violence services in Dallas–Fort Worth, and serving abroad in the U.S. Peace Corps, where she founded women’s safety and rights groups. Wherever she works, Kathryn brings the same conviction: that safety and dignity are basic rights, not privileges.
Kathryn earned her doctorate from the University at Buffalo, where she studied violent offenders and survivor trauma, and holds a Master of Social Work from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Social Work from Creighton University. A Licensed Master Social Worker, she was recognized as North Texas Social Worker of the Year in 2017 and is often called to serve as an expert witness in IPV-related cases.
